In dimness of his room, Sols eyelids slide opened and he wondered if it was early in the morning. The seams of the house creek as the wind roared and whistled. It wasn’t early as he suspected. A storm was brewing.

From his cozy spot nestled at his feet, a Chester Pug looked at him sheepishly. He knew how he hated relieving himself in the rain. He would be picking up dog feces from the kitchen floor if he didn’t get him out before the sky let loose. He scampered toward him, licking Sols face as if he could read his thoughts. Ignoring him, Sol snuggled back under the blankets not liking the idea of having to go out in the cold and yell at him to lay down. He knew he’ll pay later his decision. He curled in around his stomach, dropping his head on the comforter defeated.

How did he ever agree to look after this mutt? Unexpectedly, a friend had come to him, asking him if he could look after this mongrel for the weekend. And he didn’t know what had overcame him, but somehow… Somehow! He had said yes. And he kicked himself for it. The canine was annoying beyond belief, he would constantly bark at things for no reason whatsoever and disobeyed each and every command he gave him. But nevertheless, he digressed.

The alarm clock glowed on the nightstand told him that it was 8:32 am. It was Saturday and he was grateful that he didn’t need to go anywhere. There was nothing worse than wet damp weather and soaked fur. It was a flat irons worse enemy, next to humidity.

Buried in the blankets, He contemplated how he would spend the rainy day as if time was at cost. Perhaps, he would make some comfort food, soup, chili, mac and cheese? And, of course on the side some coffee. How about Reading? Yes, reading a good book was a perfect rainy day time waster. That was what he would do. He would be unproductive and snoopily brag about it to his co-workers on Monday. He would do nothing and hide behind the walls of his living room, curled up on his couch out of the rain. He would probably get scowled at for wasting a day, and he would thank the rainy day for giving him some solitude.

Wearily, Sol got up and walked to the kitchen. Once there, he gathered all the ingredients for the recipe he was going to make. As soon as everything was in place, he began to start cooking. When he was halfway done with it. He decided to make some coffee.

He grabbed the coffee beans and poured them into the machine. The coffeemaker brewed the drink and he spilled the warm liquid into a mug.

The air was thick with the scent and he drinked in the aroma. Coffee with milk or sugar? No, just pure black coffee, both bitter and unpleasent for most, but for him it was unalloyed delight. He finished pouring the dark liquid into the now hot mug and drew it to his lips. He took a small sip, taking in its evermore refershing aroma.

Suddenly, out of nowhere a thunderous roar of a bark was made. Sol jumped in surprise by the sound. He as well lost grip of his mug and it leaped into the air before he could even react it landed on him and the liquid spilled all over his clothes.

"Argh! Damn dog!" He growled in anger and turned to face the damn mutt. The damn thing never knew when to quit. He never knew when to quit his barking, his slobbering, panting his rancid breath in his face when he wanted his breakfast or anything for that matter.

In reponse, the mutt clawed at the door as well as desperately whimpering for something.

"What? You need to go outside or something?" He asked in annoyance.

The pug eargerly nodded in agreement.

"Argh... fine," he hissed under his breath and unlocked the door and let out the maddening creature.

The animal sprinted out the door and proceeded to go do his duty.

Sol closed the door once the thing was outside, not wanting to get himself wet. He looked down at his clothes and growled in displeasure. "Might as well change when I have the time." And with that, he walked upstairs and changed attire.

Several minutes later, Sol came downstairs all fresh and renewed. He sauntered on over to the door, while straightening his tie. He swung it open only to find the pug all soaked and drenched.

Without a second to spare, the hound ran inside getting the floor all wet.

"Yeah, yeah! Don't-" Sol stopped midsentence, seeing as it was pointless telling the damn dog what to do. Instead he quickly dashed to the bathroom and a towel.

He hastily picked up the animal and wrapped the soft towel around him. Sol could feel the poor thing shake and shiver in chilliness under his touch. Hurriedly, he placed him in front of the fireplace.

Sol got up and was going to get back to cooking, but suddenly he felt a smooth surface rubbing against his leg. He looked down and saw the chester pug cuddling up against him. With the gentle stroke of the fire and huddling furball, Sol sighed and took a sit, and he decided to watch the fire for rest of this rainy day..
A writing trade with the charming and grifted :iconshattered-skye:! You should unquestionably go watch! Like close this tab if you have to and go to her page and click that little button in corner that says watch!

I apologize if this is a little late, but it was really fun working with your character, Sol!
I hope you like this, Shattered-Skye! Just tell me if there is anything that doesn't seem right and I'll be willingly to change it. This roughly comes in in about 1000 words. 1000 words of pure fluff that is!

To anyone who's curious: I'm open for writing trades if anybody willingly to do them. Assuredly, I'm asking for writing in return, specifically character stuff. S koeep that in mind if you do want to trade!
